On August 7, at the exhibition hall of Shandong Bailong Chuangyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Bailong Chuangyuan”), a seemingly ordinary table caught the reporter's attention. It was covered with logo signs from renowned domestic and international food brands.
When a reporter picked up the label of a premium yogurt and placed it steadily on a designated area of the table, the connected screen lit up, clearly displaying its ingredient list. Among them, the words “allulose” stood out prominently. “Allulose offers a sweetness and texture similar to sucrose, with virtually zero calories and additional health benefits, making it a key ingredient in the global food industry's pursuit of the wellness market,” explained Miss. Zhang, Deputy Director of the company's Technology Department.

Located in Yucheng City, northwest Shandong Province, the area is renowned as “China's Functional Sugar City.” It produces 1.5 million tons of various functional sugars annually and hosts over 100 functional food enterprises. Their products span 35 series and more than 180 varieties. While leading companies' product lines overlap, each has established strengths in specific niche markets. Founded in 2005, Bailong Chuangyuan entered the market later than most competitors but has emerged as a rising star through impressive performance. With flagship products like resistant dextrin and allulose, the company has carved out its own “sweet” niche in the fiercely competitive market. Since its IPO in 2021, the company has maintained steady growth in both revenue and profits. According to its 2025 interim report, the company achieved revenue of nearly 650 million yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 22.29%.

Stepping into Bailong`s production workshop, a faint sweet aroma fills the air. Automated production lines operate at high speeds, with precision instruments monitoring the entire manufacturing process in real time. “From raw material input to finished product output, we've achieved closed-loop, contactless precision management,” stated Miss. Zhang. She emphasized that intelligent, standardized production models are key to ensuring product quality and efficiency.

Meanwhile, over 3,000 kilometers away in Bangkok's Kamphaeng Phet Province, Thailand, the smart factory project for new health food ingredients developed by Bailong Chuangyuan is progressing steadily at the Kamphaeng Phet Industrial Estate. This Thai facility represents a pivotal move in the functional sugar leader's international expansion strategy, boasting an impressive planned annual production capacity: 12,000 tons of crystalline allulose, 7,000 tons of liquid allulose, 20,000 tons of resistant dextrin, and 6,000 tons of fructo oligosaccharides.

From a small processing workshop to a publicly listed company, and then to an international enterprise, Chairman Mr. Dou attributes the core of success to “innovation and talent.” A wall-sized display of patent certificates in the company's exhibition hall stands as a powerful testament to its innovative strength: accumulating over 150 patent applications, with 89 granted—including 79 domestic invention patents and 10 overseas invention patents. The company has undertaken multiple national and provincial research projects, earning over a dozen provincial-level or higher science and technology awards. It maintains long-term collaborations with numerous research institutes and actively participates in establishing national, industry, and group standards for resistant dextrin, allulose, fructo oligosaccharides, and other products.

Recently, China's National Health Commission announced the official approval of D-allulose as a new food ingredient. This news undoubtedly represents a major boost for Bailong Innovation Park, which has been deeply involved in the allulose field for years. As early as 2016, the company broke international monopolies and successfully achieved industrial-scale production of liquid allulose. With its low-calorie content, high sweetness, excellent solubility, and superior safety profile, BaiLong Innovation Park's allulose has found extensive applications in food, medicine, and health supplements, securing a leading position in global market share. “As demand in the Chinese market grows, we will continue to innovate, deepen our industrial chain, and pursue dual domestic and international growth to deliver more and better products,” stated Mr. Dou.
